The CEO and colleagues of Beaverbrooks have helped raised over £20,000 after sleeping rough for charity.

Anna Blackburn, the company’s CEO, and nine Beaverbrooks members of staff joined 100 volunteers who slept rough on the streets of Blackpool to raise awareness for homeless charity Streetlife. The charity raised over £20,000 from the entire event, which Beaverbrooks contributed to.

Blackburn said: “Although it was cold and uncomfortable, especially when the rain started to pour at 2am, sleeping on the street for one night is nothing in comparison to what some young people go through.

“We got to go back to a warm and dry home after the fundraiser, yet homeless young people don’t have that luxury. It was an eye-opening experience and one that I will never forget.”
The Beaverbrooks workforce took part in the challenge as part of the Big Sleep Out in conjunction with Streetlife.
