Laings, an independent jewellery business, has announced a £10m two-year expansion plan to strengthen the group’s presence across the UK.

The funds will be used for a number of projects, including the transformation of Laings’ showrooms and workshops in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Southampton, and Cardiff.

Moreover, the company revealed that it intends to grow its number of employees by 25%, as well as expanding its workspaces for watchmakers and goldsmiths.

The first series of expansions will be unveiled in the Autumn, with work currently underway to triple the size of the group’s Cardiff showroom.

Stuart McDowell, retail director at Laings, said: “The showroom is right in the heart of the capital city and our expanded presence means we can give the brands we represent the stage to shine.

“No longer will Cardiff clients need to travel outside their home city to access these brands, they can enjoy having them on their doorstep – with Laings.”

Laings’ Scottish workshops will also see “significant investment” designed to bring clients closer to the goldsmiths and watchmakers in action.
