Maya Gemstones launches Star of David collection

The mini collection is made of 18ct white gold and round-cut diamonds, shaped in two equilateral triangles to mark the Star of David.

Maya Gemstones has launched its latest collection, Star of David, for Hanukkah 2021.

The mini collection comprises a ring and a pendant. Both pieces are made of 18ct white gold, with mini round-cut diamonds and a ‘Maya cut’ aquamarine in the centre of each piece.

Additionally, both pieces in the collection are reportedly made with a mechanism that adjusts the brand’s shape into the Star of David, which is made of two equilateral triangles.

The ‘Maya cut’ at the centre of each piece is the brand’s signature triangular cut, and was created with 28-facets and an architectural, minimalistic design.

The stone reportedly symbolises “rebirth” and its Latin name translates to “water of the sea”, in reference to its colour.

Meanwhile, the inspiration for the triangle is based on its connotations “love, power, strength and protection”, the values of which Maya Gemstones said aligns with the Star of David.

Olga Pekarevskaia, founder of Maya Gemstones, said: “Our brand vision is anchored to the power of the triangle and what it symbolises, and there is a strong correlation between this and the Star of David.

“We wanted to release a collection that not only aligns the values of these two powerful symbols, but one that’s also innovative, with a mechanism that changes one to the other. We really hope everyone likes the pieces as much as we do – Happy Hanukkah.”
