Sheffield jewellery brand Flinn and Steel has expanded its offering with a new ring collection combining Damascus steel and sterling silver.

Flinn and Steel have previously crafted rings utilising the “very best” pattern welded damascus steel supplied by the world’s leading supplier, Damasteel from Sweden.

For the latest collection, three distinct patterns have been combined with 925 Sterling silver edges or inside wraps.

Flinn and Steel said that in many cultures, silver is believed to have healing properties, aiding the body with circulation, energy levels and spirituality.

Following the usual Flinn and Steel tradition, these designs have been named after areas in and around Sheffield; The Forge Dam, Bamford Edge, Dore and Totley and Whirlbrow Brook rings.

The Bamford Edge ring is named after one of the company’s favourite spots in the Peak District. A gritstone overhang that looks out over Ladybower reservoir to the north, the brand wanted to reflect this in a water ripple pattern ring with a sharp edge of smooth silver.

A Flinn and Steel favourite dog walk, Forge Dam is a park in the Porter Brook Valley of Sheffield. With a millpond created to supply river water to one of Thomas Boulsover’s forges (Sheffield cutler and inventor of Sheffield plate), the ring features a new water ripple pattern, with an inside wrap of 925 silver.

Technically, covering a few areas of Sheffield, Flinn and Steel wanted to represent luxury and heritage, just like its brand new Damascus steel and silver edge ring.

Utilising the best quality steel, the Dore and Totley features a unique wood grain pattern and striking silver edge complete with silver inlay.

Lastly, the Whirlow Brook ring is inspired by the Whirlow Brook park featuring grass meadows and towering trees. The ring features a wood grain pattern ring with silver inlay.
