The number of pieces hallmarked by the four UK Assay Offices was down 13.5% with 666,658 pieces hallmarked in June 2023 compared with 770,358 pieces in June 2022.

This is yet another month of decline after hallmarking in May dropped 30% year-on-year.

Gold hallmarking was down 7.6% with 277,008 pieces hallmarked in June compared with 299,677 pieces in June 2022.

Silver hallmarking dropped 18.1% year-on-year from 439,694 in 2022 down to 360,257 in 2023.

Platinum only saw a small decline of 4.5% from 30,513 down to 29,139.

Lately, palladium had a 13.5% decrease in hallmarking from 770,358 down to 666,658 pieces hallmarked.
