British graphic artist and designer Emma J Shipley has launched the Gilded Menagerie: Icons of the Wild collection in collaboration with jeweller Tomasz Donocik.

Shipley’s new collection reimagines six of her “iconic” creatures – The Lynx, The Elephant, The Hare, The Dragon, The Monkey, and The Owl – in a fusion of nature and artistry.

Each pendant is crafted in 18k yellow gold or white gold plated sterling silver, and is adorned with natural, brilliant cut white diamond eyes.

Hallmarked in London, the pendants come with a necklace which can be worn at either 18, 20 or 22” lengths – each chain is finished with an EJS engraved leaf tag at the end. All EJS jewellery comes with a one year warranty.

The Lynx pendant, which is inspired by African rock art and its mythical qualities, is reimagined with “magical” wings and a peacock’s tail.

Meanwhile, the Elephant pendant features leopard spots and diamond-set eyes.

The Hare pendant necklace, which takes from the Wonder World design and is inspired by the Scottish Highlands, is adorned with a feathered headdress.

Shipley said: “I’ve admired Tomasz’s incredible jewellery ever since our time at the Royal College of Art, so collaborating with him on this collection has been a joy.

“Together, we worked to bring some of my favourite creatures from my designs to life as wearable treasures, transforming them from illustrations into sculptural jewels. I always want to imbue my animal drawings with a soul, and it was so important to me that we did the same with the jewellery. Tomasz’s craftsmanship and attention to detail have made these pieces truly special.”
