Hancocks London has selected a pair of Georgian diamond earrings as its first Jewel of the Month for 2026.

The pendeloque earrings date from around 1830 and were designed to be worn in different configurations.

Each earring is centred on an old-cut pear-shaped diamond, suspended within an articulated frame of graduated old mine-cut diamonds, and topped with an old mine-cut diamond cluster.

The diamonds are set in open-back, cut-down collets made in silver-topped gold, a technique commonly used in Georgian jewellery that allows light to pass through the stones.

The earrings can be worn in three configurations: as diamond clusters alone, with the addition of the central drop, or with the articulated diamond frame to form a chandelier-style earring.

Multi-use designs of this type were used during the period to allow jewellery to be adapted for different occasions. The earrings are priced at £95,000.

Amy Burton, creative director at Hancocks London, said: “Most antique day-to-night earrings from this era would have two conversions, but these can be worn in three distinct ways.”
