Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery has kicked off its “Kindness in my world” pendant design competition, which will see the artwork of four winning children transformed into a hand engraved keepsake.

The bespoke jewellery brand said that from 9 February to 27 March, children can use a template and any medium of their choice to design a sterling silver pendant as a gift for “someone truly special”.

It added that their drawing can show “an act of kindness, a fond memory, or any aspect they can think of, where their chosen person brings/brought a smile to their face”. It additionally encouraged children to write a small note explaining the story behind their work.

The brand said entries are free and will be displayed in its shop windows in North Hertfordshire, St Albans, Cambridge and Primrose Hill, along with being shared on its social media channels.

It said each studio will choose one winner and that they will be announced a week after the competition ends.

The selected children will then be granted a design consultation with a senior designer who will help them finalise their design for a goldsmith to hand-engrave onto a sterling silver disc. They will take home their finalised pendant on a sterling silver chain to give to their loved one.

Established in 1998, Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery is based in the North Hertfordshire village of Halls Green, where it brings together a design studio, workshop, showroom, and coffee shop under one roof.

Rebecca Howarth, Harriet Kelsall managing director, said: “Jewellery has always been about meaning, memory, and connection. With Kindness in My World, we wanted to celebrate kindness through a child’s eyes and show how even the simplest drawing can become something truly extraordinary when it carries love behind it.”
