Sustainability specialist Victoria Waugh has announced the launch of Credere, a new jewellery consultancy focused on responsible practice.
She said her company provides jewellery brands with pragmatic, commercially informed guidance as they adapt to growing demands concerning ethics, transparency and environmental impact.
She added that Credere offers core consultancy services together with ongoing advisory support, serving as an outsourced sustainability lead for companies seeking specialist expertise without the expense of employing a full-time team member.
Offering advice across six areas, Waugh said the company deals with purpose and strategy, responsible sourcing, carbon management, due diligence, certification and education and training.
She added that as a dedicated supporter of small businesses, her consultancy will also provide services suited for designer-makers and independent brands.
Waugh previously ran consultancy V&V, until deciding to work exclusively with the jewellery sector.
She has additionally worked across supply chains, certification bodies and jewellery brands, having supported several businesses of varying sizes through complex sustainability challenges in the last decade.
Waugh said: “Jewellery businesses are under growing pressure to demonstrate credible, transparent action. Credere exists to cut through complexity and give brands the clarity, tools and support they need to make meaningful progress, without losing sight of commercial reality. We believe every business – whatever its size – should have access to the support needed to grow sustainably.”
