De Beers has unveiled its Riverborn Capsule to mark the Spring Equinox, spotlighting diamonds from its GemFair initiative supporting artisanal miners.

The diamond giant’s new range includes a set of eight ‘Toi and Moi’ rings which, crafted in 18K yellow gold, combine pear- or oval-shaped rings with raw diamonds to display warm yellow and brownish hues.

Six of the rings are characterised by intertwined bands, one finished in smooth satin gold and the other engraved with tactile Florentine detailing.

Two other ‘Toi and Moi’ rings feature a pavé snow setting of diamonds, with curved bands that can be worn together or separately. One design pairs a pear-cut polished diamond with 271 other diamonds, while another combines an oval-cut stone with 282.

The capsule additionally introduces the ‘Modern Lines’ set, made up of a necklace, bracelet and drop earrings in 18K white gold based on De Beers London’s signature ‘Diamond Line’ designs. Each piece includes rough, round brilliant-cut and triangular diamonds connected by white gold knife-edge links and set using the refined ‘spectacle’ technique.

Established in 2018, De Beers’ GemFair programme supports the formalisation of the artisanal ming sector to ensure diamonds are traceable directly to their source.

Initially launched in the Kono region of Sierra Leone, the initiative uses GemFair digital tracking tools to provide a traceable route to market for artisanal miners, who account for approximately 10% of the global diamond supply by value.

Commenting on its new capsule, De Beers said: “With this collection, every diamond tells a story of transformation – from the land it came from, to the people who discovered it, and the future it helps to shape. This narrative is expressed through flowing curves, organic forms, and diamonds left in their natural state to celebrate the Earth’s raw beauty.”
