The British Academy of Jewellery (BAJ) has announced the launch of its first ever podcast, entitled the BAJ Podcast.

The academy said the decision to establish a podcast was made for jewellers who may have pressing questions about today’s key issues and the future of the industry.

It added that the podcast would provide a way to connect jewellers with industry insights, analyses and comment.

In its  first series, hosted by Sofie Boons, BAJ and guests will cover a range of topics providing insights to those in the jewellery field “navigating the current challenges” brought about by the coronavirus lockdown.

The first episode is entitled ‘Working away from home: Continuing your jewellery practice virtually with a broken supply chain’.

It explores the benefits of engaging with digital technologies during lockdown. Within the episode, digital technology experts Jack Meyer and Stephen Barnett discuss how to “get started, keep motivated and be creative with digital technologies and why now might be the ultimate opportunity to experiment”.
