Laings has announced it will announce that it will reopen its Southampton store on 16 June, following the latest government guidelines for retailers.
The site will now operate on an appointment-only basis in order to ensure the health and safety of its staff and customers.
Laings stores in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cardiff will reopen when government guidelines advise that it is safe to do so, and once open, they too will operate through an appointment-only based system.
The bespoke appointment service will be available to book online, allowing the luxury jewellers to deliver a “five-star personalised customer experience while ensuring the comfort and safety of clients and staff at all times”.
In addition, its staff are undergoing specialised training prior to the opening, to enable them to “deliver their renowned customer service, alongside the necessary safety measures”.
Laings will implement safety equipment throughout the store, and social distancing will be practised, with a limited number of people in the store at any one time. The site has also been deep-cleaned ahead of opening.
Stuart McDowell, retail director at Laings, said: “We passionately believe that purchasing our luxury products should be coupled with the unforgettable customer journey, no matter the circumstances.”
“By offering an appointment-only service, we can ensure appropriate social distancing while maintaining the standard of customer experience synonymous with Laings.”
He added: “Throughout this difficult time we’ve continued to be there for our customers in every way possible. The memorable occasions that a piece from Laings mark has not stopped and we’re committed to helping customers purchase special pieces to be cherished for generations.
“The re-opening of our stores allows us to do this, providing a touch of luxury during these challenging times and we’re looking forward to welcoming both new and returning customers alike.”
