Occupying a prime spot in Selfridges’ ground-floor ‘Wonder Room’, the historic jewellery house said that the new boutique – which has been furnished with dark wood and eau du nil carpeted floors, soft curtains and silk-satin-covered, Art Deco-inspired furniture – “epitomises the sophisticated world of Van Cleef & Arpels.”
“As a welcoming and celebratory ode” to this partnership with Selfridges, the brand has created a special collection of jewellery inspired by the vintage Alhambra necklace given to Grace Kelly, the future Princess of Monaco, by Prince Rainier in the 1970s. The collection, known as Magic Alhambra, comprises a long sautoir and three motif earrings in yellow gold and malachite, and will be available as a worldwide exclusive for a short period only.
