Entering the business awards for the first time ever, enterprising jeweller Jackie Benson was delighted to have reached the finals for both the Retailer of the Year and East Herts Business of the Year categories at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Hertfordshire Business Awards 2013.

She said: “I was pleased and really surprised not only to be a finalist in two categories, but to be runner-up too! It made me proud – entering awards makes you look into your business and realise just what an amazing business you’ve got, particularly in the current climate.”

Jackie launched her business just seven years ago and has almost doubled her turnover, specialising in exclusive wedding rings and upcoming silver jewellery designers.

Ian Cording of the FSB said the event reflected the mood of the county of Hertfordshire in that it was full of vibrancy and positivity, and was making a vital contribution to UK plc.
