Rotary has signed an exclusive four year sponsorship deal as the global official timekeeper of Chelsea FC.

The Swiss brand is the first ever watch brand to be partnered with the West London football club.

Rotary chief executive Victoria Campbell said: “This is an extremely exciting sponsorship for Rotary and one that we are very proud of. Like us, Chelsea enjoys a long standing heritage and operates on the world stage.”

In honour of the sponsorship, Rotary has designed a special edition watch in two versions, one of which has ‘The Blues’ famous blue lion badge. The firm says each watch “symbolises traditional Swiss watch making and pays tribute to the 2012 Champions League winners”.

The special edition watches will be available on the Rotary website in due course, and the firm says Chelsea’s midfielder Frank Lampard will become the Chelsea Football Club Rotary brand ambassador for the 2013-14.

Ron Gourlay, Chelsea FC chief executive said: “We have never partnered with a watch company until now but believe Rotary are a perfect fit as we share a similar outlook and goals.”
