Theo Fennell has announced that he will be a member of the judging panel for the Shine Show 2014 at The Goldsmith’s centre in Clerkenwell, London

The showcase, which is part of the London Design Festival, will celebrate the most exceptional craftsmanship in goldsmithing, silversmithing and jewellery design and will run from September 12 to November 24.

The showcase aims to unite those who have received awards and bursaries from The Goldsmiths Company and the best young, up and coming designers working at the Goldsmiths’ Centre.

It will trace the journey from early training pieces to the masterpieces of highly skilled artists now setting up their own successful businesses.

The adjudication will take place on September 3 and will bring together a host of established jewellery designers including Leo De Vroomen and Adam Munthe.

Fennell is an active supporter of the future of British jewellery and silversmithing industries, as demonstrated through his longstanding partnerships with the Goldsmiths’ Centre, The Royal College of Art and Central St Martins.

Fennell said: “I am thrilled to be involved in the Shine exhibition. The Goldsmiths’ Centre is a really great success story and it is doing wonders in giving young people a fantastic start in this trade. I am a huge fan and delighted to do what I can.”

Peter Taylor, director of the Goldsmiths’ Centre, said: “We are delighted that such an eminent judging panel is assessing the work of this year’s foundation programme students. It reflects the amazing standard of pieces produced by our students.”
