Gembridge has announced the appointment of Ioannis Alexandris as brand ambassador for Germany.
Alexandris is a gemstone and antique jewellery dealer and communications committee chair for The International Coloured Gemstone Association (ICA). He will join the network of Gembridge industry ambassadors from around the world.
He is currently the CEO of Gemolithos, an antique jewellery and gemstones supplier with offices in Munich, Hong Kong, Beijing, London and Malaysia. He has previously traded coloured gemstones and antique jewellery at the top end of the market as well as taken part in “high-value” transactions involving natural coloured diamonds.
He said: “My ambition is to bring in top dealers in Germany to Gembridge’s digital marketplace.
“Digital coloured gemstone trading in Germany, as elsewhere, is still in the early stages of its development, and so a solid and unique platform like Gembridge has arrived on the scene at the right time as a pioneer, offering secure trading with trust and responsibility.”
Additionally he will aim to bring in suppliers from the country’s gemstone cradle, Idar-Oberstein, which has a long history in cutting and polishing exquisite gemstones from around the world.
