Repossi has collaborated with American-Dutch artist Sterling Ruby on a limited-edition brooch inspired by Ruby’s REIF series of relief sculptures.
The series, originally assembled from salvaged wood and studio materials, references early 20th Century Constructivism.
Repossi’s Place Vendôme workshop reinterpreted the design in 18-carat champagne gold with a single 2.10 mm diamond. The piece stands 87 mm tall and weighs about 25 grams.
Each brooch will be individually numbered as part of a limited run.
Ruby said: “I’ve known Gaia for close to a decade. Repossi’s approach is architectural and minimalist yet open to disruption.
“Whether I’m working in sculpture, ceramics or clothing, I’m interested in shifting context — breaking hierarchies between disciplines. Repossi provided a space where jewellery could function as both object and artwork.”
Gaia Repossi, creative director for limited editions, said the collaboration extends the maison’s history of working with contemporary artists, following previous projects with figures such as Robert Mapplethorpe.
She said: “I’ve long been drawn to Sterling’s work. His use of colour, aesthetic rigour and distinctive visual language have always resonated with me. Working with him has been a profound dialogue grounded in mutual respect and a common dream of what this piece could become.”
