Shropshire-based jewellery manufacturer Curteis has launched a new collection of chains crafted from Single Mine Origin (SMO) gold.
The range is produced in 9ct and 18ct gold and provides full traceability from the mine to the finished product.
The SMO Gold Chain Collection features a selection of the firm’s top-selling styles, including Curb, Trace, and Spiga patterns.
The chains are available in various widths and weights to suit both independent retailers and bespoke manufacturing requirements.
The gold is exclusively supplied in the UK by The Betts Group. SMO gold is sourced from member mines that adhere to international environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards and undergo annual independent audits.
Curteis has been manufacturing jewellery for more than 50 years. The firm plans to expand the range in the coming months, with the collection also set to be sold through Betts Metal Sales.
Charlie Betts, managing director of The Betts Group, said: “We believe that gold mining can be a force for good and positive change. By working with esteemed, trusted UK-based manufacturers like Curteis, we can share the SMO message of accessible, fully traceable and responsible gold with a far wider audience of independent retailers.”
Claire Davies, operations director at Curteis, added: “Partnering with SMO represents an important step for our business. Being able to offer SMO Gold chains means we can give our customers complete confidence in the origin of this range. Traceability, responsible sourcing, and transparency are becoming increasingly important in our industry.”
