Christie’s New York has announced the date of its live ‘Magnificent Jewels’ auction, 8 December.
The auction will showcase just over 380 jewels, featuring a selection of coloured diamonds, colourless diamonds and gemstones, and signed pieces by Suzanne Belperron, René Boivin, Bulgari and Cartier.
Among the expensive sapphires highlighted in the ‘Magnificent Jewels’ auction will be Kashmir sapphire and diamond bracelet of 43.10 carats surrounded by 67.90 carats of diamonds, which will be sold for around $5m to $7m (£3.7m to £5.2m).
The sale will also feature an array of private collections, including ‘Important Jewels from the Estate of Mrs. Henry Ford II’, which will provide a selection of 43 lots featuring significant signed pieces by Boucheron, Bulgari, Cartier and Tiffany & Co.
The auction will highlight contemporary designs, including jewels by JAR, Moussaieff, and a dedicated section: ‘A Collection of Objects by Daniel Brush’.
Leading up to the ‘Magnificent Jewels’ live auction will be the Jewels Online sale, which will last from 18 November to 1 December and feature over 100 lots from the most celebrated names in jewellery.
