£100k jewellery thieves ‘could be at large in Hampshire’

Detectives investigating the alleged armed robbery of a jewellery store in Sheffield have issued CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, and they believe they could be staying in Andover or elsewhere in Hampshire.

Police were called at around 11am on Tuesday 23 September following reports of an armed robbery at HL Brown Jewellers in Barkers Pool, Sheffield.

It is alleged three men armed with sledgehammers entered the store and threatened staff. The group reportedly smashed glass cases within the store, before escaping with over £100,000 worth of Rolex watches. While the men left the store on foot, it is believed they got into a silver Citroen C3 after a short distance and drove off.

Officers are keen to locate the two men pictured, as it is believed they hold information that could assist with enquiries. One man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. James May, 27, of Bromley in London, was charged with robbery on Friday 14 November and remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court at a later date.
