Four appear in court over Hatton Garden jewellery heist

Four people appeared in court yesterday (Thursday) in connection with the Hatton Garden jewellery raid, in which an estimated £10m worth of jewellery was stolen.

Brenn Walters, also known as Ben Perkins, 43, Laura Perkins, 40, Terri Robinson, 35, and Steven Robinson, 46, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with conspiracy to conceal, disguise, convert or transfer criminal property.

The four did not enter pleas and were released on bail. They are due to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on September 4.

Nine other men including Terry Perkins, 67, John Collins, 74, Daniel Jones, 58, Hugh Doyle, 48, William Lincoln, 59, Brian Reader, 76, Paul Reader, 50 and Carl Wood, 58, are also expected to appear at the court on the same day to enter pleas, ahead of a trial schedule for November.

The nine men have been charged with conspiracy to burgle and conspiring to conceal or transfer jewellery.

The raid took place on the Easter weekend when thieves used heavy cutting equipment to enter the Hatton Garden Safety Deposit Box, where some 72 safety deposit boxes were opened.
