The responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has released its end-of-year report, showing a strong end to the year.

RJC announced that in 2014 it secured 100 net new members of which 75% are now certified. The organisation also announced 14 Chain of Custody Certified Entries are now registered in the gold refining and trade sector.

The organisations reported a successful outreach in China and India leading to the introduction of six new accredited audit firms, including two in India.

As of December 2014, the RJC has 572 members, 442 Certified Members and 14 Certified Chain-of-Custody entries overall.

The RJC also reported that it held its first corporate social responsibility conference in London at its annual general meeting – leading to the first RJC Impact Reports, outlining the organisations ethical improvement policy.
