Watch brand Breitling has launched a new limited series Navitimer AOPA, in a tribute to its 1950s original.
The original Navitimer, launched in 1952, became a popular timepiece for those in the aviation industry, with the world’s largest association of aircrafts owners and pilots, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), choosing the model as its official watch.
A reinterpretation of the original model, the Navitimer AOPA, which is limited to just 500 pieces, will feature AOPA’s logo on its dial and also engraved into the back of its case.
Other features of the timepiece include a steel case, a leather or steel strap, a chronometer-certified selfwinding chronograph and a circular slide rule to enable the wearer to handle calculations relating to airborne navigation.
Breitling described the watch as a “collectors piece for aviation enthusiasts”.
