The Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) has said its AGM will take place at 11am on Wednesday June 24 at The Crypt Restaurant in Ely Place.
The meeting will be followed by a talk from the association’s CEO James Riley on his recent field trip to Mogok, Burma.
Gem-A said that following an “exciting year of growth”, members, students and partners of the association are encouraged to attend the AGM to vote on the future direction of the organisation and how it can best serve the industry and its members in the coming years.
Alongside Riley, attendees will also hear from Gem-A chairman Jason Williams and editor-in-chief of The Journal of Gemmology, Brendan Laurs.
Riley said: “Gem-A has progressed greatly over the past five years and we hope we can continue this upward trend in the future and keep building on this positive momentum in the years to come.
“However, vital to this aim is the influence of all members who have the lead when it comes to the direction of the association, its core aims and how it goes about achieving them. We hope that at this year’s AGM all our members will get involved in this process and make their voices heard and their votes counted.”
Nominations for the board go live on the Gem-A website today (Tuesday, June 2), along with voting forms, the AGM agenda, and company accounts for the past fiscal year.
