Milton Keynes shopping centre, Centre:mk, has reported a 7.8% increase in jewellery sales in 2015 compared with the previous year.

The shopping centre, which is jointly owned Hermes Investment Management and AustralianSuper, includes jewellery retailers such as Beaverbrooks, Goldsmiths, Fraser Hart, H Samuel, Leslie Davis, F Hinds, Ernest Jones and Swarovski.

Ed Sellick, asset manager at Hermes, said: “The very strong jewellery sales performance we have experienced stems from people choosing to treat themselves and indulge in spending on luxury items.

“This is both a testament to the recovery and strength of consumer spending over the last few years, as well as the successful work we have carried out at Centre:mk, to achieve a wide range of flagship jewellers including Beaverbrooks, Fraser Hart and H Samuel in addition to the new upsize for Pandora, due to open at the end of February.”
