The Natural Colour Diamond Association (NCDIA) has announced it is to host its first meeting in the UK.

The association, which launched in 2003, is a non-profit membership organisation that aims to “train, enlighten and educate” the global jewellery community and natural colour diamonds.

Its first UK meeting will take place on 10 November at the Gemological Institute of America’s (GIA) London Campus, with the opening talk to be held by David Warren, Christie’s senior international jewellery director.

The talk will be about the historic and rare diamonds, of all colours, that have passed through Christie’s auctions over the past 40 years. Warren will include personal stories in the talk, covering how some of the sales materialised.

A statement from the NCDIA read: “Whilst the public is increasingly knowledgeable about white diamonds, there is still a lack of reliable information about natural colour diamonds.

“The NCDIA seeks to address this by disseminating the most up-to-date gemological information to its members and supplying them with trustworthy marketing and promotional tools.”
