Timex sales and marketing director passes away

Richard Bunt, the recently appointed sales and marketing director of Timex Group UK has passed away whilst on holiday in Krakow, Poland.

The 33-year-old fell and hit his head when he leaned out of an electric vehicle to retrieve his sunglasses. He suffered a bleed on the brain as a result of his injuries.

He was taken to Krakow University Hospital for surgery but his injuries were too severe. He passed away five days later on 13 June. His wife Lucy (32) and younger brother Andrew (29) were at his side when he died.

Tributes were paid to the Leamington native on the Coventry City Football Club website as he was a lifelong fan. He and his wife married in 2015 and Bunt had been living in London recently.

In the final hours before his death, Bunt donated his organs which went on to help six Polish patients.

Gavin Crilly-McKean, senior vice president international, on behalf of Timex Group UK said: “We are devastated by the tragic news at the loss of Richard and pass our sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.

“We were truly excited to have Richard join us as part of the Senior team at Timex Group UK. His dynamism, depth of knowledge and generous engaging character immediately made him an intrinsic member of the team.

“Richard was a respected individual within the watch industry for many years and will be sorely missed.”

Bunt previously worked for Amazon before being made the sales and marketing director of Timex Group UK on 20 May.
