Bonhams has announced the appointment of Kate Flitcroft as a senior specialist at the group’s London jewellery department.

Based in New Bond Street, Flitcroft’s new role at the international auction house commenced on 5 July 2021.

Flitcroft joins the company from her previous position as head of jewellery and silver in London at Lyon and Turnbull.

She also provides Bonhams with a decade of experience working at Christie’s, also in London.

Emily Barber, head of jewellery UK at the firm, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Kate to Bonhams. Her wealth of experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our jewellery offering in the UK.”

A previous winner of the 2016 Anderson Medal for gemology, Flitcroft has previously presided over a white glove sale, while also raising over £2.5m in charity auctions.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining Bonhams. The jewellery department has an enviable reputation, and I am looking forward to adding my knowledge and enthusiasm to what is already a very strong team.”
