Timex are launching the Fairfield Contactless, a new range of watches for AW17 with contactless payment capabilities.

The watch is powered by bPay, and has been described as “the perfect fusion of style and smart functionality.”

The first in the collection to launch is modelled after one of the brand’s best-selling styles, the Fairfield Chronograph and is paired with a leather strap.

The strap is the part of the watch which is able to make payments, and it comes in either black or brown. It is also available to buy separately.

The bPay technology enables wearers to make purchases of of up to £30 at over 490,000
locations across the UK.

Wearers will also be able to track their spending, top up their balance, and take control of their contactless payments using the bPay app or website.

Duncan Harris, Timex UK sales and marketing director, said: “We are thrilled to be launching our newest innovation in wearable technology and partnering with bPay.

“The functionality of the Fairfield Contactless watch gives our consumer the option of hands free payment, whilst retaining the timeless character of this classic chronograph watch.

“We are excited at the possibilities this technology offers consumers in payment solutions and will continue to work with our partners in bringing this to more of our collection”.

The watch retails for £159 and will launch on the Timex and End Clothing website in November.
