Online diamond retailer The Diamond Store has appointed investment bank finnCap Cavendish to explore the possibility of a sale, according to reports from Sky News.

The move comes after the retailer received a number of unsolicited takeover approaches.

The Diamond Store was founded in 2006 by Gary Ingram, an entrepreneur with a background in online marketing.

The company is now run by Jeremy Kanzen, who took charge of the business in 2021.

It is unclear what valuation the business might attract in a sale or what the owners would look for in any deal.

The Diamond Store stated that it had engaged advisers “to evaluate offers and explore strategic options for the business and the opportunities they may provide”.
