Hugh Rice has announced that it is set to close its store in Harrogate, its second store closure in two months.

The Harrogate store will be closing on 28 September 2024 to allow the team to “further concentrate on growing [its] other businesses in Hull and Beverley”.

It thanked the local community for their “loyal support” and encouraged customers to visit the Hugh Rice Hull store in the future.

Hugh Rice stated that all outstanding warranties and lifetime cleaning care offered will be honoured at the Hull store moving forward.

It comes just months after the company confirmed its decision to close its Toll Gavel location.

The company was founded in 1965 and set up its first store in 1971 on George Street in Hull.
