Beaverbrooks wins trio of awards at Best Companies 2019

Beaverbrooks has been named the 10th best company to work for in the UK and the company’s chairman and MD have also been recognised as UK’s ‘Best Leaders’ at The Sunday Times Best Companies Awards 2019.

The family-owned jewellers, which is the only retailer to feature in the ‘Top 10 List’, also received a special achievement award for featuring in the ‘Top 100 List’ (mid-sized companies) for 16 consecutive years, at a ceremony in London on Thursday 21 February 2019.

Beaverbrooks, which is celebrating its centenary this year, is the only company in Best Companies’ 19-year history to have consistently achieved 3 Star accreditation. According to the retailer, this is the “highest standard of accreditation” which reflect “extraordinary levels” of workplace engagement.

In a joint statement, Beaverbrooks’ chairman Mark Adlestone and MD Anna Blackburn, said: “To be named among the UK’s Top 10 places to work and to be recognised as Best Companies’ longest-serving 3 Star accredited company, are great accomplishments. Beaverbrooks was also the highest-ranking retailer in the Top 100 List and so there’s lots to celebrate with this year’s result.

“We’re also honoured to be recognised as UK’s Best Leaders as we enter our centenary year and are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved as a business. Our people are what make us so special and The Beaverbrooks Family has achieved some remarkable things together. As we celebrate our past, we’re very excited for our future – here’s to the next 100 years and beyond.”

They added: “An elevated focus internally over the last five years has seen our highest ever response rates (this year 92%) and increasing scores. We’ve also generated our highest profit levels in our 100-year history, proving that treating people right is not only the right thing to do, it pays directly into the bottom line.”
