Online jewellery store Ruby and Oscar is celebrating a bumper year of trade as it marks its first birthday this August with £1m in turnover.

The north east-based company, which specialise in handcrafted gemstone jewellery, saw profit from within its first month of trade thanks to its strong online presence and a growing team.

Launched in August 2018, Ruby and Oscar quickly established itself as a “leading” online jewellery retailer offering designs with a focus on lab created gemstones.

The jeweller ships to over 20 countries worldwide and continues to see rapid growth as it moves into its second year. In just over a year, the brand has appointed six new members of staff within its marketing, creative design and customer service departments.

Managing director, Matt Silversides, said: “We are extremely proud of Ruby and Oscar’s continued growth. Celebrating our first birthday marks a fantastic achievement for the brand and our team.

“Each of our new and existing team members are experts in their own field, whether that be within the creative or technical disciplines. This has allowed us to unlock the potential of the brand and move Ruby and Oscar forward as we look ahead to another successful year of trade.”
