Tech giant Apple has launched the latest version of its smartwatch, featuring always-on display for the first time.
Announced on stage at the headquarters in Cupertino, California, the Series 5 Apple Watch will an LTPO display, which it claims allows the screen to refresh dynamically from as high as 60Hz to 1Hz, alongside a new display controller and ambient light sensor.
The Series 5 will also have an 18-hour battery life with the screen continuously on and will be available in 42mm and 44mm sizes. For the new iteration Apple will also offer its smartwatch in a series of new colours, straps and case options, including titanium and ceramic ones.
According to data from IDC 43m Apple Watches have been sold over the last two years, which is reported to account for nearly 50% of the smartwatch market.
The new Apple Watch Series 5 will start with a retail price of £399 in the UK, with 4G models costing £499.
