Laings appoints new retail consultant

Luxury jewellers Laings has announced it has appointed retail consultant Stephen Paterson to its team.

Paterson will now offer advice to Laings customers to ensure they have the “very best experience” when they visit a Laings store. 

He will work alongside the jeweller’s teams across its showrooms in GlasgowEdinburgh, Cardiff and Southampton, and “build on every aspect” of their retail service.

Paterson has a “rich history” in the jewellery and watch sector, having joined Hamilton and Inches at the age of 18, and remaining with them for 40 years.

During his time there, he said he built an “in-depth knowledge” of luxury retail, and can understand what customers are looking for.

Laings are well-known for hosting an array of luxury watch brands, including Patek Philippe, Rolex, OMEGA, Jaeger-LeCoultre and IWC. Paterson is now “looking forward to continuing these relationships” with Laings.

Paterson said: “When customers are shopping for a luxury item it’s paramount that they consistently receive the best possible service. They are shopping for an investment piece, be that financial or emotional. 

“It’s an important decision that they are going to be making when they are in our care and ensuring that they are treated to a memorable and enjoyable experience is something that you have to get right.”

He added: “It’s a really exciting time to join Laings and become part of their story. Joe
