Gemfields has announced its support for Walk with Giants, a new campaign that aims to promote and raise funds for wildlife in Africa.
The new campaign is led by conservation charity Space for Giants, and will see a group of the charity’s global ambassadors trek through one of Kenya’s “most ancient” elephant migration trails to raise funds for the endangered wildlife.
The initiative will raise awareness of the dangers that climate change, overdevelopment and poaching pose to these animals and their habitats.
Gemfields is supporting this project with a specially curated jewellery capsule collection that will aim to raise funds and awareness for the initiative.
The jewellers said it is a “perfect fit” for the initiative, due to its brand values of transparency and helping both conservation and communities.
Twelve of its brand partners, including Fabergé and Backes & Strauss, have designed 44 exquisite pieces, using Gemfields’ responsibly sourced emeralds and rubies, with all profits going to Space for Giants.
Sean Gilbertson, CEO of Gemfields, said: “We need everyone to walk the talk for these giant causes; we are honoured to support the energetic team at Space for Giants in their intrepid cause.”
