The Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) has introduced a new omnichannel event called Voice, in a bid to push the international jewellery industry to start up again amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

An acronym for Vicenzaoro International Community Event, VOICE is formed of three parts: a summit (in real life and televised), a physical exhibition with 350 exhibitors and an online showroom.

Unlike previous Vicenzaoro fairs, 95% of the participating exhibitors will be from Italy, reflecting the travel restrictions in other countries around the world.

It said the same constraints – for prospective buyers – has led to digitisation across the board; as well as the daily Summit talks and discussions, the VOICE website will feature virtual ‘rooms’ where buyers and exhibitors can connect.

IEG said: “Suppliers will be equipped with laptops, high-spec zoom cameras, optimal lighting and sound equipment to show their jewellery, watches and packaging in the best possible detail.

“The website will also feature Inspiration Boards with product images posted by visitors.”
