IJL 2021 cancelled

Organisers of International Jewellery London (IJL), Reed Exhibitions, have confirmed that the 2021 edition of the event will no longer go ahead.

Reed Exhibitions cited ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic as the reason for the event’s cancellation.

News of the cancellation comes two months after exhibitors announced that IJL 2020 would no longer be going ahead

In a newly-released statement, Reed Exhibitions said: “Following the cancellation of IJL 2020 on 9th June; we have taken the even more difficult decision to not run IJL in 2021.

“Both the UK live events and jewellery industries are in uncertain positions and whilst we are confident that they will return in due course, a combination of these factors have lead us to this decision.”

They added: “We have made this announcement at an early stage to give clarity to all of our partners as they continue to navigate this global pandemic.

“IJL is one of our valued brands and we will continue to stay close to and monitor the industry as the situation becomes clearer over the coming months. Thank you to everyone for all your support of IJL.”

The trade show was initially scheduled to take place at Alexandra Palace, London, between 13 September and 15 September 2020.

The event would have marked the first time that the trade show took place at Alexandra Palace, in a move that would have celebrated the event’s 65th anniversary.
