The show was scheduled to take place in March 2020 but has since been postponed throughout the year on multiple occasions with it now officially due to take place next July.
A statement released by HKTDC said: “With many pandemic-related travel restrictions remaining in place, exhibitors and buyers may have difficulty joining the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show on 1-5 March 2021 and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show on 3-7 March 2021 as originally scheduled.
“After consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders, a decision has been made to reschedule the twin fairs to 2-6 July 2021, to be held at AsiaWorld-Expo. Details of the arrangement will be provided to exhibitors in due course.”
The organisation added: “We would like to express our gratitude to exhibitors, pavilion organisers, industry associations and buyers from around the world for their tremendous support for HKTDC events.
“We will continue to make every effort to help the industry capture business opportunities through multiple channels and platforms.”
