West Yorkshire jeweller to cycle 260 miles for charity

The bike ride is being staged in aid of the Huddersfield Town F.C “Keep It Up Campaign” and The Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The ride will begin at Huish Park in Yeovil on Wednesday 2 May 2012, with cyclists pedalling 260 miles.

Competitors are hoping to arrive back home to Huddersfield in time for the final League 1 home fixture against of the season against The Glovers on Saturday 5 May 2012.

Richard will have to cycle an average of approximately 90 miles per day over the three days. For every £1 raised through ‘Keep It Up’, 50p goes to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the other 50p goes to the Club’s Academy and local community projects.

In a statement, staff at Franklyns said that while Richard is not a regular cyclist but has been training hard for his challenge and “all the staff are really proud of his efforts and wish him the best of luck.”
