In celebration of its 10-year anniversary CARAT* the luxury fashion jewellery company has donated £10,000 to the Macmillan Cancer Support at the charity’s Celebrity Christmas Stocking Auction.
CARAT* CEO Scott Thompson said: “I recently lost a dear friend to this vicious disease so wanted to do something that was significant and inspiring as opposed to throwing a party.
“I am delighted to be celebrating our 10-year milestone by supporting the Macmillan Cancer Support and hope this donation will help the charity move a step closer to its fundraising goals.”
The Celebrity Christmas Stocking Auction is one of the charity’s highest profile calendar events of the year, which enabled CARAT* to show its support with a donation made in lieu of hosting an anniversary party.
Verity Parker, director of corporate partnerships and philanthropy at Macmillan, added: “I’d like to extend a huge thank you to CARAT* for their extremely generous donation to Macmillan Cancer Support, it really is fantastic.
“More than one in three people now get cancer, which for most will be the toughest fight they will ever face. The money donated tonight will not only help us reach our £140,000 Christmas Stocking Auction target, but will go towards helping us ensure no one faces that fight alone.”
Voluntary donations constitute 99 per cent of Macmillan’s annual income.
