The Birmingham Assay Office (BAO) has rebranded its Analytical Laboratory as AnchorCert Analytical.

The BAO said that the rebrand is due to the scope of its services expanding “enormously”.

Originally specialising in precious metals, AnchorCert Analytical continues to analyse precious metals from 999 gold to platinum, but services are expanding and it is now established as a specialist for nickel testing.

The office that as EU legislation applicable to jewellery and fashion accessories has developed, so has the investment in the resources of the laboratory. New equipment and qualified staff have resulted in a service offering testing compliant with EU, American and Canadian legislation.

Dippal Manchanda, technical director, said: “The move and the rebrand mark a very significant stage in our growth. We have expanded as far as we can within the constraints of our current building. The move will unlock new potential for expansion and the prospects are very exciting”

The first step in the launch of AnchorCert Analytical is a brand new website summarising all the services currently available.
