Yesterday was National Puppy Day, a day which celebrates puppies and also encourages potential suitors to adopt puppies rather than buy from pet stores.
National Puppy Day was founded in 2006 by celebrity pet and home lifestyle expert, and author, Colleen Paige. Paige is also the founder of National Dog Day and National Cat Day.
The day was established in order not only to celebrate the joys of owning a puppy, but to educate the public on puppy farms and to create a nation of “puppy-free” pet stores.
