Goldsmiths WestQuay in Southampton is to reopen this week after an extensive £1m refurbishment.

The high street jeweller has carried out a ‘luxury refit’ and also introduced a brand-new ’boutique.Goldsmiths’ iteration. The premises will be open to the public on 10 December.

The refurbished Goldsmiths store will feature dedicated Omega, Breitling, Longines and TAG Heuer branded areas, providing a shop-in-shop experience. It will also introduce more brands such as Gucci Jewellery, Rado, Oris and Hamilton.

The store features a brand-new seating area adjacent to the store’s engagement and wedding ring counters.

Craig Bolton, executive brand director for Goldsmiths, said: “The refurbishment is hugely exciting news for Southampton. The WestQuay refurbishment not only offers our customers a higher-quality, luxury experience, it also showcases some of our most sought-after fashion brands in the boutique.Goldsmiths store. We truly believe that WestQuay customers will enjoy the new-look interior and extended fashion area.”

Boutique.Goldsmiths caters to the younger generation and features a unique mix of fashion-led brands such as Michael Kors, Emporio Armani, Marc Jacobs and Olivia Burton.

Goldsmiths said 14 more job positions have been created to accommodate the expansion of boutique.Goldsmiths. The store will boast a 26-strong team of highly trained full and part time employees, managed by the store managers, Paul Kitchen and Yalda Kader.

Andy Collyer, general manager of WestQuay, said: “It’s always exciting when a retailer wants to refresh their store, it gives our visitors a new and exciting experience, so we’re delighted that Goldsmiths has invested in the store. It’s a positive affirmation of what a vibrant shopping destination WestQuay is and it is great to see Goldsmiths reopen in time for Christmas.”

Customers are invited to visit the newly-refurbished store on its opening weekend (December 12-13) and enjoy champagne whilst they browse. On Saturday 12, there will be a competition whereby shoppers can pick a golden envelope at random and be in with the chance of winning two designer watches, worth over £400.
