Jeremy France Jewellers has been awarded the title of Winchester’s ‘Favourite Independent’, the company’s second local accolade of 2016.

Having recently won the award for ‘Independent Business of the Year 2016’ at the Winchester Business Awards, the popular jewellery retailer said it was keen to maintain its title as Winchester’s favourite.

The competition, which is organised by the Winchester Business Improvement District (BID), saw 700 consumers cast their votes online and in ballot boxes located across the city.

Jeremy France was shortlisted in the top three alongside shoe retailer Parklife Kids and Kingsgate Wine and Provisions, with the award being handed out at a VIP cocktail evening at Winchester’s Hotel Du Vin on Thursday, 25 August.

Jeremy France, the owner, said: “It is an absolute privilege to have been titled as the people’s favourite independent retailer in Winchester. In the beginning, over 25 years ago, it was just me at the bench with one sales assistant, and now I have a thriving company with 30 members of staff and a three-story luxury showroom.

“We would not be here if it weren’t for the loyal support of our customers, and it is thanks to them that we can receive this inspiring award; a very proud moment for me, the France family, and my fantastic team.”
