IJL 2016 kicks off

International Jewellery London (IJL) has opened its doors to visitors today, welcoming independent retailers and key buyers to view the industryโ€™s latest offerings.

The annual exhibition – now in its 61st year – will run from Sunday until Tuesday ( 4-6 September), and showcase the latest jewellery brands and ranges from some 550 designers, manufacturers, loose gemstone suppliers, retail service suppliers and established brands.

The show will feature a packed seminar programme of leading entrepreneurs and retailers, including Laura Tenison, founder of the mother and baby boutique global multi-channel brand JoJo Maman Bรฉbรฉ, and Sally Heath, e-commerce director of successful fashion brand New Look.

In total, some 40 high-profile industry experts will share advice on topics including sales techniques, social media, human resource issues, security, brand building and intellectual property.

Meanwhile, the show will also see the 10 winning designers of the annual KickStart Bursary Programme exhibit as a group at the KickStarter stand area.

KickStarter Marina Skia was recently named as the winner of the โ€˜Peopleโ€™s Choiceโ€™ award, and will receive a free stand in the Design Gallery at IJL 2017.
