Four arrested after ‘Halloween mask’ raid on village jewellery store

Four people have been arrested after raiders ‘wearing Halloween masks’ stole jewellery from a village jewellers.

The robbery took place at around 10am yesterday (1 September), when two masked men entered Tiptree Jewellers in Tiptree, Essex, and smashed a jewellery cabinet with a heavy tool.

The men made off with an amount of jewellery, believed to be a worth a five-figure sum. The shop, and part of the square it’s located on, was cornered off by police while a forensic scientific support team carried out investigations.

The men, who were reported to have driven off in a Mercedes C220, were unarmed and Essex Police said no one was injured during the raid.

Two men from Romford, aged 58 and 30, one 36-year-old man from Colchester and a 55-year-old woman from Romford were arrested yesterday on suspicion of robbery.
