The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is reviewing its Chain of Custody (CoC) standard and is inviting input from the jewellery industry on the revised proposed changes.
The CoC standard provides an assured approach for companies to source, segregate and transfer precious metals, thus creating a traceable ‘chain’ through every stage of the supply chain.
It was developed in 2012 and is voluntary for RJC members.
The RJC is calling for input on these revisions, which are outlined in a summarised document.
The full revised CoC Standard, including key guidance sections, can be found in the Chain of Custody Standard Review.
This is the third round of public consultation on the review of the CoC standard, and revised proposed changes will be put forward.
These changes are based on feedback and comments received during the second public consultation period, which formally ended in April 2017.
The RJC asks those who want to have their say to send their comments to [email protected] before 15 September 2017.
