The Diamond Store has been awarded the Butterfly Mark by sustainability certification body Positive Luxury, recognising its performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.

The independent assessment measured the company’s impact on climate, nature, water, and its treatment of workers and communities.

The Diamond Store achieved scores of 59% in environmental performance, 62% in social responsibility and 74% in governance, surpassing the 50% threshold required for certification.

Founded on Hatton Garden craftsmanship and operating for nearly 70 years, The Diamond Store produces jewellery made from recycled precious metals and either lab-grown or conflict-free natural diamonds.

Its sourcing complies with The Kimberley Process and The National Association of Jewellers’ code of ethics.

The company has introduced initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint, including partnerships with the Pacajai REDD+ reforestation project in Brazil and DPD’s electric delivery network.

It also uses recyclable packaging and offsets around 100 tonnes of carbon each year.

Gary Ingram, co-founder and CRO, said: “Earning the Butterfly Mark is a deeply meaningful milestone for us at The Diamond Store. When we founded the business, our vision was to make exceptional jewellery accessible – but never at the expense of our planet or its people.

“This certification reflects our values and the progress we’ve made. I’m incredibly proud of our team and excited to continue leading a business where integrity, craftsmanship, and sustainability go hand in hand.”
